Straus announces appointments to House committees, including Public Education

House Speaker Joe Straus (R-San Antonio) announced the composition of House committees for the 83rd Legislature earlier today. The 11 members of the House Public Education Committee are:

Straus appointed Rep. Bill Callegari as the new chair of the House Pensions Committee and Rep. Harvey Hilderbran as chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee. Rep. Jim Pitts retains his chairmanship of the House Appropriations Committee. View the complete list of House committee appointments here.
