FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND: We here at ATPE’s Teach the Vote hope you are having a safe and relaxing extended Fourth of July holiday with your family and friends. If you are headed to the ATPE Summit next week in Dallas, safe travels, and we look forward to seeing you there! The Advocacy Update and Awards will take place at 8 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, and consideration of the 2024-25 ATPE Legislative Program will take place during the House of Delegates meeting July 9.

The House Public Education Committee has advanced the House’s STAAR redesign bill, and the Ten Commandments law has been temporarily blocked in 11 districts.

ATPE provided oral comments and written testimony on the bill, which was advanced to the full House on a 8-1 vote with six committee members not present.
